With regular daily service from Athens, Mykonos is easily reachable year-round by both sea and air connections. Once on the island transportation to other surrounding destinations are also possible.

By sea, the boats sailing from Athens leave from two separate locations. The main port of Athens is at Piraeus which can be reached from the city by Metro. Travelling time to Mykonos island over the distance of 94 nautical miles is 6 hours by regular ferry and 3 hours by high-speed.

The second port is Rafina which is located 27 kilometers east of Athens center and is reachable from Athens by bus or taxi. Travelling time to Mykonos from this port is 4.5 hours by regular ferry and 2 hours with high-speed over a distance of 71 nautical miles.

Both ports have either a Metro or bus service connecting to the international airport of Athens.

By air, the Mykonos airport services both domestic and international charter flights. The two companies of Olympic Airways and Aegean Airways offer daily domestic connections from Athens throughout the year with as many as 10 flights a day through the summer months. Duration of the flight time is 30 minutes.
